Members of the Canyon Lake 9ers Golf Club on Sunday paraded in golf carts to the homes of its 2022 scholarship recipients to present $12,500 in scholarships.
The scholarship recipients are as follows:
- Kylie Strange – Strange is involved in basketball and volleyball and plans to attend Arcadia University.
- Connor Martilla – Martilla is involved in swim, water polo, and tennis and plans to attend UC Santa Barbara.
- Riley Smith – Smith is involved in stunt and cheer and plans to attend St. Mary’s University.
- Mariah Querequincia – Querequincia is involved in Lacrosse and plans to attend Multnomah University.
- Kendra Nathan – Nathan is involved in water skiing and plans to attend University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
- Haley Kielty – Kielty is involved in tennis and plans to attend University of Arizona.
- Kraig Edwards – Edwards is involved in football and volleyball and plans to attend Palomar College.
- Tori Quinn – Quinn is involved in dance and plans to attend Northern Arizona University.
The eight recipients are Canyon Lake High School seniors who have maintained at least a 3.5 GPA and have been actively involved in school activities, a sports team, and community service.
Eligibility for the 9ers scholarship required each student to submit a “brag sheet,” an essay, and recommendations from a teacher and coach.
