The Canyon Lake Yacht Club recently introduced its new program, Deckhand of the Month, aimed at recognizing members who consistently go above and beyond in guiding the club toward its mission.
Last month, the club recognized Tina Inkrote and Dawn Varga of On Target Digital Services for their contribution to the club, awarding them the inaugural Deckhand of the Month title.
This month, the spotlight shines on Faye and Ron Wilbur, who have been unanimously voted as the Deckhands of the Month by the Yacht Club board members. The Wilburs’ unwavering dedication and efforts in promoting the club have not gone unnoticed.
In recognition of their contributions, they were treated to dinner and drinks at the Lighthouse Restaurant. Commodore Rob Mora, Vice Commodore Dave Carter, Purser Lynette Rodriguez, and Membership Chair Cindy Silk Gonzalez joined in the celebration, honoring the Wilburs for their service to the club.
Wilbur served as the 2023 commodore and made a significant impact on the club. His tenure included organizing three clinics and orchestrating 16 community events, along with 23 exclusive gatherings for Yacht Club members, solidifying the club’s integral role in fostering camaraderie and engagement. In addition, the club’s membership climbed to more than 400 residents.
