During Wednesday’s meeting of the Canyon Lake City Council, Chief Jeff LaTendresse presented the Canyon Lake Fire Department’s report for the month of June.
Station 1 responded to 92 calls in June. They include three fire responses, 62 rescue/EMS incidents, 12 service calls, 10 good intent calls, and four false alarms. One was not reported.
The three fire responses include a brush fire on June 9 in Meadowbrook on June 17, an electrical transformer fire on June 17 near Schooner Drive and Sloop Drive in the City of Canyon Lake, and a structure fire on June 29 in the 29800 block of Vacation Drive in the City of Canyon Lake.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0:53 minutes, en route to arrival time was 4:37 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 6:23 minutes. These times represent the average of all CODE 3 EMS responses in the city. They do not include auto/mutual aid incidents.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1:28 minutes, en route to arrival time was 7.43 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 8:42 minutes.
Riverside County/Cal Fire responded to nine incidents in the City of Canyon Lake. Canyon Lake engines responded to 10 incidents outside the city, including Lake Elsinore and Menifee.
The department’s training hours for June are 228.51. Training included paramedic updates from REMSA, engine company operations at the Corona Training Center, simulator training (single-family home), wildland training, area familiarization (BLM land), and reserve firefighter ladder training.
Public outreach and education included the 2nd Annual Firefighters Association Golf Cart Show, Taco Tuesday, Movie Night at the Park, Movie Night at the Pool, employee baby shower, and daily interaction with the community.
