The Canyon Lake Chronic Illness Support Group announced the launch of its new website. illnesswarriors.org.
The Canyon Lake Chronic Illness Support Group supports individuals with chronic medical or physical conditions. The group meets in person on the first Monday of each month from 6 to 8 p.m. in the CPR building at 31534 Railroad Canyon Road. Meetings are free to attend and open to anyone with a chronic medical condition or illness. Caretakers are also welcome.
The purpose of this group is to meet to support individuals with chronic medical or physical conditions. The meetings allow individuals with chronic illness to share privately with others who face similar challenges and limitations faced by chronic physical or medical limitations. The group is committed to creating a safe place for men and women to share their experiences, strengths, and hope.
The monthly meetings are led by Steven Prince, a Canyon Lake resident who suffered five strokes between May 2014 and October 2015. “Many people face chronic health issues/conditions and just need an outlet for encouragement, hope, and support,” Prince said. “The meetings are compassionate, positive, engaging, informative, uplifting, and sometimes humorous. We listen, we laugh, we cry, but most of all, we can all be our authentic selves without judgment.”
