A DUI and Driver’s License Checkpoint conducted by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station in the City of Wildomar on Friday, September 6, resulted in multiple arrests and citations.
The checkpoint was conducted at Clinton Keith Road and Inland Valley Drive from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m.
During the operation, deputies screened 533 vehicles. The checkpoint led to four arrests for driving under the influence and one arrest following a vehicle pursuit. In addition, deputies issued 32 citations, including nine for unlicensed drivers and two for suspended licenses. A total of 13 vehicles were towed.
Checkpoints like these are part of ongoing efforts to enhance public safety by identifying impaired drivers and ensuring that all motorists are properly licensed. Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests.
Funding for this checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
