Sixteen-year-old Canyon Lake resident Cameron Johnson is selling Halloween “Boo Bags” to help fund his mission to Mexico.
In the spring, Johnson will be traveling to Mexico with his schoolmates at Crossroads Christian High School to help build a home for a family in need. He will also be volunteering at an orphanage.
Students participating in the mission trip are encouraged to raise funds to cover their expenses. Johnson has set a financial goal of $1,800. To achieve this goal, he is selling “Boo Bags,” which are filled with candy and personally delivered to the porch of the buyer’s choice.
A “boo” is an anonymous goody bag that you leave on someone’s front doorstep. It could be a neighbor, a friend, or a random person you want to surprise with something sweet. Boo bags are popular during the Halloween season and a fun way to surprise someone with a special treat.
Johnson’s Boo Bags sell for $8 each and include a surprise egg, four pieces of candy (peanut free), four mini toys, a light-up glow balloon, and a “You have been Booed!” tag. Names can also be added to the tag.
The last day to order a Boo Bag is October 30.
Payments and donations are accepted through Zelle, Venmo, and Johnson’s mission funding account.
