A Homeland resident was arrested on Thursday for allegedly taking photographs underneath a woman’s skirt as she was shopping in the City of Moreno Valley.
The incident occurred on October 27 around 1:15 p.m. at a business in the 12000 block of Day Street.
Deputies assigned to the Moreno Valley Sheriff’s Station were dispatched to the location after receiving a report of an adult male who surreptitiously took photographs underneath a woman’s skirt as she was shopping.
The suspect was confronted by patrons of the store and attempted to exit the premises. Deputies arrived and contacted the suspect, who was identified and released at the scene. The victim had already left the business before the deputies arrived.
Following up on the case, the investigators successfully located the victim.
On October 30, a search warrant was served at a residence in the 25600 block of Calamity Lane, in the unincorporated area of Riverside County known as Homeland. Several electronic items were collected during the search warrant service, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The suspect, identified as 59-year-old Jose Antonio Gutierrez of Homeland, was arrested and booked at the Robert Presley Detention Center on charges related to invasion of privacy. He was released the day after his arrest after posting $5,000 bail, according to jail records.
