The Canyon Lake Yacht Club announced Steve Davenport as its Deckhand of the Month.
After retiring eight years ago, Davenport and his wife, Sheryl, relocated from Lakewood, California, to their dream home in Canyon Lake, where they quickly became involved in the community.
Davenport has been an asset to Canyon Lake clubs, actively participating in the Yacht Club, Pickleball Club, Car Club, and the Guild.
Davenport has attended many of the Yacht Club’s sunset cruises and volunteered his time to set up and break down the Guild’s Harborfest Concert—a successful event made possible by dedicated volunteers like him.
“This highlights the importance of clubs supporting each other to create a thriving community,” Yacht Club Commodore Rob Mora said. “Always quick to lend a hand and share a smile, Davenport embodies the spirit of community that makes Canyon Lake special.”
In recognition of his contributions, the Yacht Club honored Davenport with a lunch at the Sports Stop, where he was joined by Commodore Rob Mora, Vice Commodore Dave Carter, and Membership Chair Cathy Lekawa. ” It was a small gesture of our immense gratitude,” Mora said.
