Canyon Lake residents are invited to deck out their golf carts and take to the streets for the 14th Annual Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive on Sunday, December 8. Entry into the parade is an unwrapped toy for the Toy Drive.
Carts can begin lining up along Blue Bird Drive at 4 p.m., where waivers will be distributed and toy donations collected.
The parade will start promptly at 5 p.m. Late entries will not be permitted.
The procession will travel along Canyon Lake Drive North/South, concluding at East Port Park, where participants and spectators can enjoy music, food vendors (Baja Shrimp, Scooter’s Sweet Shack, and Bootleg Bistro), a jumper for kids, an awards ceremony, and an opportunity to view the carts up close.
More than 20 awards will be presented this year, with first, second, and third place receiving cash prizes.
Spectators are encouraged to line the parade route and enjoy the colorful display and holiday cheer.
To ensure everyone’s safety, distributing items, such as candy and promotional items, along the parade route is prohibited.
There will be no street parking on Canyon Lake Drive South/North (adjacent to the parade route) on December 8 from 4 to 7 p.m. Vehicles/golf carts may park on the opposite side of the street or side streets.
During the parade, vehicle traffic will be reduced to 5 mph. Vehicles will not be permitted to pass the parade.
The pickleball courts and the launch ramp will be closed on December 8 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., as this event concludes in the parking lot.
Spectators who wish to donate toys can drop off their donations at the end of the parade or place them in the collection box at 22055 Mustang Ct. between November 5 and December 18.
The Christmas Golf Cart Parade and Toy Drive started in 2011 with approximately 20 golf carts. Last year, more than 80 golf carts participated in the parade and hundreds of toys were donated.
