The Canyon Lake City Council meeting on Wednesday evening was filled with gratitude as the city and local leaders honored outgoing Mayor Dale Welty for his dedicated service.
Welty was recognized for his leadership on the council and his commitment to serving the citizens of Canyon Lake during his tenure as mayor over the past year.
As a token of appreciation, Welty was presented with a plaque from the city along with numerous certificates of recognition from local leaders.
A resident of Canyon Lake for 36 years, Welty has been a steadfast member of the council since being elected in 2020. In 2023, he served as mayor pro tem before stepping into the role of mayor in 2024.

“I’m honored to have represented the residents of Canyon Lake this past year,” Welty said. “I want to thank the residents, city staff, and my fellow council members for their support. “I thoroughly enjoyed being able to cut the ribbon on the new Council Chamber during my final council meeting as mayor.”
In addition to being honored as the outgoing mayor, Welty took the oath of office on Wednesday, marking the beginning of his second four-year term on the council. His term ends in 2028.
