Starting early next week, the docks at the north ski area are set to undergo replacement as part of a planned improvement project. This project is expected to take approximately two weeks to complete.
The north ski area will remain open during this time; however, access to the docks will be impacted. Residents are encouraged to plan accordingly and exercise caution near the site.
In November 2024, the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors approved $152,000 from the Repair and Replacement Fund for three docks at the north ski area. The funding approved also includes an additional $2,000 for a survey and a five percent contingency.
The current wood docks were installed in the 1990s and are showing significant signs of deterioration, including cracked wood frame, joint separation, and worn decking.
