Founded in 2018 by Jason and Anitra Jackson, The Cedar Company is a family-owned business that emerged from the couple’s love of candles and farmhouse decor. Their story began with simple beginnings, creating small furniture pieces, shelves, and decorative accents. They later expanded to using reclaimed wood and glass decor, providing the perfect foundation for their candle-making journey.
The Cedar Company name holds a personal meaning for the Jacksons. Their journey began more than 20 years ago when they shared an apartment on Cedar Avenue in Long Beach, California. It was there, in that small space, that their story began—little did they know that their future would one day include the creation of a candle and decor business that would carry the same name. Their business name is a tribute to the start of their shared life and dream, making it the perfect representation of their journey from love to business.
What started as a simple idea has blossomed into a business that combines creativity and craftsmanship. The Cedar Company continues to grow, fueled by the same love and dedication that Jason and Anitra have poured into every aspect of their work since day one.
Each soy candle produced by The Cedar Company is handmade by the Jacksons. The couple is personally involved in every step of the process, from choosing the fragrance and color to hand-pouring each candle, ensuring that each candle is crafted with the utmost care from the initial stages to the moment it reaches the customer’s home.
In addition to candles and decor, The Cedar Company offers bath salts and body scrubs. Their products are featured at The Cottage Gallary in San Juan Capistrano and the California Citrus State Historic Park in Riverside.
Married for 26 years, the Jacksons relocated to Lake Elsinore in 2003. They have two children and two grandchildren. When not working, the Jacksons enjoy camping and traveling.
