Juvenile arrested for murder of Lake Elsinore man

The Riverside Sheriff’s Central Homicide Unit investigators identified a male juvenile as the suspect in the murder of Rene Diaz, a 42-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore.

Diaz was shot on December 23, 2024, in the 2500 block of Spectacular Bid Street in the City of Perris. He succumbed to his injuries on December 29, 2024. At that time, the whereabouts of the juvenile suspect were unknown, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

On January 21, multiple search warrants were served at various residences in the City of Perris and the surrounding county area. The juvenile suspect was eventually located at a residence in the 20500 block of Santa Rosa Mine Road. He was taken into custody and transported to Juvenile Hall.
