Cal Fire crew delivers baby on I-15 in Lake Elsinore

This morning around 6:30 a.m., the crew of Cal Fire Engine 9 responded to a call of a woman in labor on the side of Highway 74 in the City of Lake Elsinore.

While en route to the hospital, the woman went into active labor, requiring immediate assistance. On the southbound I-15 in the City of Lake Elsinore, the paramedics of Engine 9, alongside AMR, successfully delivered a healthy baby girl in the back of the ambulance.

According to Cal Fire, the delivery was smooth, with no complications. “Both mom and her newborn were in excellent condition upon arrival at the hospital, leaving the crew with another heartwarming story they’ll never forget,” Cal Fire said.

The crew of Engine 9 includes Fire Captain James Worthington, Fire Engineer/Paramedic Corey Stearns, and Fire Engineer/Paramedic Ryan Wafford
