On January 31, Canyon Lake POA presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents from December 30, 2024, through January 26, 2025.
Marine Patrol received 48 calls for service. Staff performed six boat safety inspections, four boat tows, two battery assists, five fishing license checks, three debris/other retrieval and disposal, and dine quagga inspections.
One citation was issued for expired/no registration (state), one citation was issued for expired/no registration (POA), and one citation was issued for expired/no registration at a dock or lift.
One citation was issued for reckless behavior while operating a motorized boat, one citation was issued for failure to present a valid ID, and two citations were issued for “other” violations. In addition, 22 verbal and seven written warnings were issued.
Patrol boats operated 119 hours on the main lake, 97.1 hours on the East Bay, and 2.8 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 70.8 hours, boat two operated 100.8 hours, boat three operated 2.8 hours, and boat four operated 44.5 hours.
Marine Patrol employees are employed by the POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting to the POA.
