A pedestrian was injured on Saturday evening after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Railroad Canyon Road. The incident occurred at about 10:50 p.m. near Canyon Lake’s main entrance.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the driver was traveling westbound on Railroad Canyon Road when it struck the pedestrian, who crossed the roadway where there was no pedestrian walkway. The driver and two witnesses stated the light was green and the driver had the right of way, authorities said.
The pedestrian is suspected to have been under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.
The pedestrian was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with moderate injuries. The driver was uninjured.
