Mt. San Jacinto College (MSJC) honored the City of Menifee’s Economic Development Department as the 2025 Outstanding Industry Partner of the Year. This recognition celebrates the city’s commitment to workforce development, job creation, and fostering strategic partnerships that benefit the local economy.
Menifee is the first city to receive this honor, underscoring the strength of the collaboration between the city, Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce, and MSJC.
Through initiatives like internships, job fairs, and job placement programs, this joint partnership has directly connected local residents with high-demand careers, advancing individual success and regional workforce development.
The Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce was also recognized as part of this honor. Their ongoing support of local businesses and workforce initiatives has played an integral role in the success of Menifee’s economic development efforts.
Menifee Economic Development Manager Kayla Charters was recognized at the award ceremony for her exceptional contributions to workforce development.
“This recognition truly reflects the power of collaboration,” MSJC Job Developer/Placement Coordinator Nesha Hill said. “The City of Menifee’s Economic Development Department, Kayla Charters, and the Menifee Valley Chamber of Commerce have all been instrumental in creating meaningful connections and ensuring that Menifee’s residents are well-equipped for success in the workforce.”
Menifee’s workforce development efforts are already yielding impressive results, with the California Employment Development Department reporting a 7.8% increase in Menifee’s employment rate from 2022 to 2023. In addition, the city is actively engaged in the Southwest Riverside County Higher Education Coalition, which focuses on expanding four-year degree programs, particularly in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
“Workforce Development is a critical component to attracting high-skill, high-wage employers to the City and region,” said Charters. “With enhanced collaboration with Menifee’s education partners and an innovative approach to economic development, Menifee will continue to elevate the workforce development pipeline to support the business community.”
