The Wildomar City Council and former City Manager Dan York have agreed to his retirement, effective May 9. York will receive a severance payment of $44,026.66, equivalent to two months of his pay.
York was appointed city manager on February 1, 2022, succeeding Gary Nordquist, who had been with the city since 2009 and was appointed city manager in January 2013.
During a special meeting on April 11, the council voted to place York on paid administrative leave and directed the city attorney to negotiate a mutual separation agreement.
To ensure a smooth transition and maintain continuity in city operations, the council appointed City Clerk Janet Morales as acting city manager. The city said the council will move quickly to identify an interim city manager and begin the search for a permanent city manager.
