The Mermaids of Canyon Lake Club is set to host its 4th Annual Derby Day fundraiser on Saturday, June 7, from 12 to 3 p.m.

This ladies-only event promises a fun-filled afternoon featuring a boat cruise around the East Bay, catered lunch, drinks, a Most Fabulous Hat Contest, and the ever-popular kayak “horse” races. Each guest will receive $20 in “mermaid money” for betting on the races. The guest holding the most “mermaid money” at the end of the races will be declared the winner and receive a prize.
Attendees will be picked up by boat at Indian Beach for a short, scenic cruise around the East Bay. Boats will then gather and tie up at Diamond Point Park, where the kayak horse races—featuring men paddling in head-to-head competition—will take place. Community members are invited to gather at the park to cheer on the racers.

Guests are encouraged to wear their most fabulous derby hats for a chance to win a free ticket to the club’s annual tea event. There will be one winner from each boat.
Each boat will be limited to 6 guests, plus a mermaid captain and a driver, so space is limited. Early ticket purchase is recommended.
Tickets cost $55 and include a catered lunch with drink options (including spirits), a boat cruise around the East Bay, and $20 in “mermaid money” for betting on the races. To purchase tickets online, click here.
