The Canyon Lake Rules and Regulations Review Committee was tasked with reviewing and improving the existing Rules and Regulations to create a more cohesive and user-friendly document aimed at streamlining the rules to eliminate redundancies and enhance clarity and enforcement.
On Tuesday, the POA Board of Directors approved the committee’s recommendation to merge the pickleball courts, tennis courts, basketball courts, and Gault Field sections of the Rules and Regulations into a single section titled “Courts and Fields.” This consolidation reduced the length of the Rules and Regulations document by eight pages.
The rule changes are as follows:
The following rules will be combined into one rule titled CF.4.1 Hours of Use:
GF.2.1: Hours of use
GF.2.2: Closure
The following rules will be moved to Section II – General Rules For Use in the Recreation Area:
GF.2.7: No driving or riding on fields
GF.2.10: No trash/littering
GF.2.11: No climbing
The following rules will be removed since they do not constitute a rule. Instead, these statements will be included in the introduction areas of the sections:
BC.3.3: CLPOA is not responsible for medical expenses, injuries, or accidents
PT.1.11: Use at risk
GF.2.4 titled “Responsibility for damages” and GF.2.5 titled “Responsibility for Reimbursement to CLPOA for Damages” will be removed, as these rules are covered by GR.2.10 “No Damage to CLPOA Property.”
The following sections/rules will be categorized as policies within the Facility Use Policy:
BC.3.4: Long-term scheduling
BC.3.5: Organized youth/adult leagues using basketball courts exclusively
Gault Field Use Rules GF.3.1 through GF.3.8
A rule was created for guest use of the tennis and basketball courts to be consistent with the guest use rule already in place for pickleball.
