Ballots due May 14 for Canyon Lake POA Board election

Canyon Lake homeowners are reminded to submit their ballots for the Canyon Lake POA Board of Directors election by May 14 at 9 a.m. Four candidates are vying for three seats on the board: Jeff Bill, Bill Medved, Alex Cook, and write-in candidate Lainie Cooney.

Only prime members are allowed to vote, per Article III of the Bylaws. Prime members have one vote per unit/lot/parcel owned.

Prime members voting by paper ballot have two drop-off options:

  • Blue Bird Hall: Ballots must be dropped off no later than Monday, May 13. Blue Bird Hall, also known as Community Patrol headquarters, is located on the corner of Canyon Lake Drive North and Blue Bird Drive.
  • Lodge: Ballots can be dropped off at the lodge on Election Day, May 14, between 8 and 9 a.m.

Prime members voting electronically must cast their votes before the 9 a.m. deadline on May 14.

Only prime members who opted out of electronic voting by February 14 received a paper ballot. All others were sent an electronic ballot to the email address on file with the POA. Prime members who did not receive their electronic voting ballot should check their spam folder.

The Annual Meeting of the Members and Election of Directors will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at 8 a.m. in the Holiday Bay Room at the lodge. The meeting will be called to order and polls will close at 9 a.m. To make a quorum, one-third of the voting power (1,600 out of 4,800) must return their ballots. If a quorum is not met on May 14, the alternate meeting date will be on Friday, May 16.
