The Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station will be conducting a Driving Under the Influence (DUI) and Driver’s License Checkpoint on Saturday, June 7, from 7 p.m. to 3 a.m. at an undisclosed location in the City of Wildomar.
Checkpoint locations are chosen based on a history of DUI crashes and arrests.
During the checkpoint, deputies will look for impairment due to alcohol and/or drugs. Drivers charged with driving under the influence face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department reminds the public that impaired driving is not just from alcohol; some prescription medications and over-the-counter drugs may interfere with driving.
