During the June 11 meeting of the Canyon Lake City Council, Fire Chief Jeff LaTendresse presented the Canyon Lake Fire Department’s report for May, highlighting 105 calls for service.
Calls for service include six fires, 79 rescue/EMS incidents, six service calls, eight good intent calls, five false alarms/false calls, and one call not reported.
The average dispatch to en route response time was 0.38 minutes, en route to arrival time was 5.16 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 5.44 minutes. These times represent the average of all Code 3 EMS responses in the city. They do not include auto/mutual aid incidents.
The 90 percent fractile dispatch to en route response time was 1.01 minutes, en route to arrival time was 7.25 minutes, and dispatch to arrival time was 7.43 minutes.
Cal Fire responded to the City of Canyon Lake four times in May. The Canyon Lake Fire Department responded to 10 incidents outside the city. All 10 incidents were in the City of Lake Elsinore.
Some of the department’s community outreach in the month of May included participating in the Fiesta Day parade, assisting the city with flag placements for Memorial Day, participating in the Canyon Lake Association of Men’s golf tournament, and hosting the department’s annual Open House.
Over the next couple of weeks, Canyon Lake firefighters will go through “Live Fire” training at the Corona Fire Training Center. This training is required for an ISO rating.
