A juvenile riding an e-bike was hospitalized on Monday following a collision with a vehicle on Scott Road in the City of Menifee.
The incident occurred around 5:36 p.m. near the intersection of Scott Road and Bellamy Lane, where responding officers located a male juvenile suffering from severe but non-life-threatening injuries and a 28-year-old female driver.
The juvenile was transported to a local hospital. The driver was not injured. Both the juvenile and the driver are residents of Menifee.
According to the Menifee Police Department, preliminary findings indicate that the female driver was traveling eastbound on Scott Road when the juvenile, riding an e-bike southbound on Bellamy Lane, continued across Scott Road. The driver attempted to swerve right to avoid the collision but was unable to do so, resulting in a collision with the e-bike. After the initial impact, the vehicle crashed into a fence.
The Menifee Police Department reports that impairment is not suspected to have been a factor in this collision.
