Following a widespread lightning event, a Cal Fire strike team has been deployed to Southern Oregon.
The Cal Fire Lasson-Moduc Unit strike team, consisting of five engines and a strike team leader, has been deployed to assist with wildfire suppression efforts after multiple days of lightning ignited numerous wildfires across the region.
The deployment is part of the state-to-state mutual aid agreements between California and Oregon, reinforcing the cooperative partnership that allows both states to respond swiftly during wildfire emergencies.
“We stand with Oregon during this critical time, just as they’ve stood with us during some of California’s toughest fire seasons,” Cal Fire Chief Deputy Director Anale Burlew said.
