The Murrieta Police Department has announced that it is increasing the use of drone technology to monitor illegal e-bikes and dangerous driving throughout the city.
Equipped with high-resolution cameras and real-time video capabilities, drones give officers a bird’s-eye view of roadways, sidewalks, and bike lanes. This enhanced perspective allows officers to more effectively identify and respond to violations such as reckless riding, sidewalk use by motorized bikes, and speeding in bike lanes.
Aerial surveillance also helps law enforcement cover more ground efficiently, gather evidence, and respond quickly to complaints.
“The use of drones is becoming a valuable tool in improving road safety and enforcing traffic regulations in busy city environments,” the department said.
