The Wildomar Beautification Volunteers (WBV) organization is celebrating five years of dedicated community service, marking a significant milestone in its ongoing mission to keep Wildomar clean, welcoming, and connected.
Formed on July 11, 2020, by Wildomar Council Members Bridgette Moore and Joseph Morabito, the grassroots effort began with a simple, powerful act: pick up trash. From that humble beginning, the group has grown to approximately 400 dedicated volunteers.
In 2021, the group began tracking its progress. Since then, more than 1,444 volunteers have collectively contributed 13,560 hours of service. Their collective efforts have resulted in the removal of more than 9,986 bags of trash from streets, parks, trails, and public places across the city.
The organization’s impact goes beyond litter cleanups. Volunteers have also provided assistance to approximately 30 elderly residents, offering assistance with yard work, trash removal, and other essential tasks.
Weekly cleanups typically take place on Saturdays, with volunteers working about two to three hours depending on the project. After each project, volunteers support the local economy by gathering at and patronizing Wildomar businesses.
The group’s largest efforts take place annually on Earth Day, when about 300 volunteers join forces for a cleanup initiative. This event has become a hallmark of civic pride and environmental stewardship in Wildomar.
By painting over graffiti, picking up trash, and simply showing up, the Wildomar Beautification Volunteers have inspired civic engagement and unity. Their work has restored pride in public spaces, beautified neighborhoods, and helped foster a stronger sense of community. As they continue their mission for the sixth year, their work serves as a reminder of what’s possible when residents come together for the good of their community.
