The Canyon Lake City Council awarded the construction contract for the city’s new police department building to Lowe Construction, Inc., in the amount of $637,230.
Work on the project is scheduled to start this week, with an expected completion date on or about November 21.
The scope of work includes interior build-out of the lower level of city hall, including administrative offices, an interview room, armory, and evidence room, installation of security infrastructure, electrical and HVAC system upgrades, restroom retrofits and addition of shower and locker rooms, and renovation of the existing Code Enforcement office to accommodate Community Service officers.
Once finished, the facility will serve as the headquarters for the city’s police department, marking a major milestone in Canyon Lake’s efforts to establish its own law enforcement services.
Funding for the project will come from $1.2 million in police department startup funds allocated from the city’s general reserve.
Lowe Construction Inc. is a Canyon Lake-based firm, owned and operated by a local resident. In June 2024, Lowe Construction, Inc. was awarded the Council Chambers Renovation Project. According to the city, work on that project was successfully completed on time and to a high standard, earning commendations from city staff for quality workmanship, consistent communication, and professionalism.
