Riverside County DA’s Office employee arrested on suspicion of sexual battery

A Riverside County District Attorney’s Office employee was arrested on Thursday following allegations of sexual assault.

According to officials, investigative technician Jaiquin Devon Moore, a 52-year-old resident of Lake Elsinore, was taken into custody on suspicion of one felony count of sexual battery. He has since been placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of both criminal and administrative proceedings.

The case began on August 20 when the District Attorney’s Office received a complaint involving allegations of sexual assault against a non-sworn employee. A preliminary internal investigation was initiated. During the process, Moore was identified as a suspect.

To ensure a fair, thorough, and impartial investigation, the Bureau of Investigation requested an independent criminal investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit. The investigation led to Moore’s arrest.

“Our office is committed to transparency, accountability, and above all the safety of our community,” Bureau Chief Investigator Natasha Crawford said. “We take every allegation of misconduct seriously and will continue to fully cooperate with the investigation. Holding all individuals accountable for violations of the law is essential to protecting our community and maintaining the public’s trust.”

Moore’s bail was set at $25,000. He was released on the same day of his arrest, according to jail records. He is scheduled to appear in court on October 3.

Anyone with additional information or who may be a victim is asked to contact Investigator M. Shamhart with the Riverside County Sheriff’s Special Victims Unit at 951-955-1698.
