The Riverside County Sheriff’s Lake Elsinore Station screened 620 vehicles during a Driving Under the Influence/Driver’s License Checkpoint on Friday, August 22, between 8 p.m. and 3 a.m. on Riverside Drive and Stadium Way.
The checkpoint led to three arrests for driving under the influence and two misdemeanor warrants served. In addition, deputies issued 22 citations, including seven citations for unlicensed drivers and one citation for a suspended license. Eleven vehicles were towed.
Funding for this checkpoint is provided by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
