Motorcyclist killed in Perris crash after striking light pole

A motorcyclist has died following a crash in Perris on Tuesday morning, September 16.

Deputies responded at approximately 9:45 a.m. to the area of Murrieta Road south of Orange Avenue, where they found the motorcyclist unresponsive on the side of the roadway. Life-saving measures were performed until paramedics arrived.

The motorcyclist was transported to a local hospital, where they succumbed to their injuries.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, preliminary findings revealed the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Murrieta Road from Orange Avenue, lost control, and collided with a light pole. Drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision, authorities said.

A temporary road closure of Murrieta Road between Orange Avenue and Anthirium Avenue was required to process the scene and collect evidence.
