The Canyon Lake Chamber of Commerce brought local businesses together for a day of friendly rivalry at the 3rd Annual Battle of the Businesses, where eight local teams faced off in a variety of lively competitions that highlighted both athleticism and community spirit.

This year’s participating teams included Coldwell Banker, Najera Law Group, Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantinas Service Champions, Sports Stop, Sunrun, reigning champions Touchless Cover, and Trusted Business Partners.
The spirited competitors battled it out in events such as tug-of-war, a three-legged race, a piggyback ride, limbo, jump rope, hopper balls, disc golf, and a kayak race on the lake.
After a full slate of challenges, Service Champions emerged victorious, earning the perpetual trophy and bragging rights as this year’s Battle of the Businesses winner.
The individual winners of each category are as follows:
- Frisbee Golf: Service Champions
- Piggyback Ride: Coldwell Banker
- Limbo: Service Champions
- Kayak Race: Touchless Cover
- Three-legged Race: Service Champions
- Jump Rope: Sports Stop
- Hopper Ball: Coldwell Banker
- Tug-of-War: Service Champions 2
This event was more than just a competition—it was an opportunity for local businesses to build connections, celebrate teamwork, and engage with other local businesses.

Through sponsorships from Station Pizza, Hills Donuts, and Najera Law Group, the chamber was able to provide free pizza, donuts, coffee, and bottled water to all who attended. Music was provided by Pepe’s Mexican Restaurant and Cantina.
This event also drew support from Mayor Mark Terry and the Canyon Lake Fire Department, who stopped by to cheer on the teams.
Chamber leaders called the event another success, noting that the Battle of the Businesses not only strengthens business-to-business relationships but also brings the community together in a fun and memorable way. The chamber credited event coordinator Rick Tobin for playing a key role in organizing the event, and Dave at Touchless Cover for his insight on the activities and layout.
“Congratulations to all the winners of the 2025 Battle of the Business,” Chamber President Johnny Pineda said. “Your dedication, hard work, and support for the City of Canyon Lake were on full display. I’m so proud to have each of you there showing your passion and commitment to our community. Thank you for making this event a memorable success.
