The Canyon Lake Association of Past Presidents (CLAPPS) on Tuesday presented a $29,000 check to the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association to help fund seven projects at the golf course. This donation represents proceeds from the CLAPPS’ recent Beautification Tournaments.
The CLAPPS have identified the amount of support for each project:
- $2,000 toward rebuilding the walking bridge on hole #6 (old #17).
- $3,000 for labor and materials to refurbish the 11’ Street Clock.
- $4,500 towards material and labor for 15 new 24” box trees on the golf course.
- $3,000 towards the replacement and installation of two electric drinking fountains with bottle fill features at the restroom locations.
- $1,500 towards labor and material to refurbish the concrete lighthouse on hole #6 (old #17) with brighter stain colors.
- $5,000 towards the improvements of the two golf course restroom building interiors and replacement of all fixtures.
- Up to $10,000 to fund new furniture at the driving range to better accommodate patrons and tournament events.
Formed in September 1989, the CLAPPS is made up of past presidents of the Canyon Lake Men’s Golf Club and has a long-standing tradition of supporting the golf course. Over the years, the CLAPPS has raised more than $150,000 for various golf course enhancement projects, continuing their mission to preserve and improve one of Canyon Lake’s most cherished amenities.
