The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department continues to investigate the death of 16-year-old Naythan Vasquez of Menifee and is asking the public’s help in identifying the suspect(s) involved.
On May 9 at about 10:30 p.m., deputies from the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station responded to an assault with a deadly weapon in the 21000 block of Waite Street in the City of Wildomar, where they located Vasquez suffering from a gunshot wound.
Deputies performed lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived. Vasquez was transported to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
An additional adolescent male also sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
The Central Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case and urges anyone with information to contact Investigator Joshua Manjarrez at 760–393–3530.
