A Murrieta man was arrested after allegedly making criminal threats toward a City of Wildomar public official, authorities announced today.
On November 8, the Lake Elsinore Sheriff’s Station received information regarding a City of Wildomar public official receiving threats of a criminal nature. According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, 38-year-old Cody Joseph Salazar of Murrieta was identified as the individual making the threats.
On November 9, Salazar was arrested without incident and booked on suspicion of making terrorist threats and threatening a public official. He is currently out of custody on a $20,000 bond.
The name of the public official has not been disclosed.

The Riverside County Sheriff’s Office said it takes a zero-tolerance approach to threats against public officials and any member of the public. “These types of incidents will receive our full attention, and all investigative steps will be taken to identify and hold accountable individuals who think this type of behavior is acceptable,” the department said.
