City of Menifee to hold public hearing for Interstate 215/McCall Boulevard Interchange Improvement Project

The City of Menifee, in cooperation with Caltrans will be holding a public hearing for the Interstate 215/McCall Boulevard Interchange Improvement Project on Thursday, December 4, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Sun City Civic Association, located at 26850 Sun City Blvd.

This project includes the widening of the existing overcrossing structure along McCall Boulevard over the I-215, adding a bike/Neighborhood Electric Vehicle lane on both sides, adding a sidewalk on the north side, modifications of the on- and off-ramps, and improvements to the nearby intersections of McCall Boulevard/Bradley Road and McCall Boulevard/Encanto Drive.

This public hearing will be an open forum and provide an opportunity to give public comment and define issues that need to be examined in the Environmental Impact Report (EIR).

After public comments are received, Caltrans, as assigned by the FHWA, and in cooperation with the City, may give environmental approval to the project, undertake additional environmental studies, abandon the project, or modify the project based on comments received. If the project is given environmental approval and funding is appropriated, Caltrans and/or the City of Menifee could design and construct all or part of the project.

The public can review or obtain the Draft EIR/EA from November 3 through December 22. For more information on how to view the EIR and how to make a public comment outside of the public hearing, click here.
