A fire heavily damaged a two-story home in the 23000 block of Matador Way on Tuesday evening.
Firefighters arrived to find the home’s second story and roofline well involved in fire, prompting an aggressive, defensive attack to stop the flames from spreading to neighboring properties.
Firefighters deployed multiple hoselines and used an aerial ladder to reach the fire, which had consumed a significant portion of the roof structure and the second floor.
Firefighters battled the blaze for approximately one hour before knocking it down and bringing it under control.
According to MFR, the homeowner was not present at the time of the incident, and no injuries were reported. The family dog was rescued by a neighbor during the initial response; however, the family cat remains unaccounted for.
The two-story residence sustained significant fire and smoke damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
