The Hemet Police Department will be increasing patrols and officer visibility throughout the holiday shopping season to ensure a safe environment for shoppers, families, and local businesses.
Officers will be assigned to foot, bike, and vehicle patrols during peak shopping hours and major retail dates. The department is also utilizing its Real-Time Information Center, mobile and fixed surveillance systems, and crime analysis tools to quickly detect and respond to incidents.
The department will be working closely with retailers and partner agencies to address organized retail theft operations and enhance overall public safety.
“We are watching, coordinating our efforts, and we will ensure accountability for your criminal actions,” Chief Michael Arellano said.
Shoppers are encouraged to park in well-lit areas, secure valuables, remain alert, and report suspicious activity.
