A juvenile riding a pocket bike without a helmet was injured in a traffic collision this morning in the City of Menifee.
The crash occurred around 11:51 a.m. at the intersection of First Star Court and Menifee Road and involved a Subaru and a small motorized pocket bike.
Upon arrival, officers contacted the driver of the Subaru, a 36-year-old male resident of Menifee, and a juvenile who had been operating the pocket bike. The driver of the Subaru was not injured. The juvenile, who authorities say was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the pocket bike upon impact and sustained a fractured wrist and abrasions.
A parent was notified and responded to the scene, subsequently transporting the juvenile to a medical facility for further treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary findings by the Menifee Police Department indicate the pocket bike was traveling on the wrong side of the roadway at the time of the collision.
