On November 26, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents that occurred from October 27 through November 23. The report highlighted 48 calls for service.
Staff performed four boat safety inspections, 10 quagga inspections, two boat tows, two battery assists, and 15 debris/other retrieval and disposal. Six fishing license checks were performed.
In addition to 13 verbal warnings and one written warning, staff issued six citations. The citations include one for expired/no registration (state), one for expired/no registration (CLPOA), one for expired/no registration at a dock or lift, one for failure to present a Boater Card, and two for no fishing license.
Patrol boats operated 103.1 hours on the main lake, 68.2 hours on the East Bay, and five hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 75.7 hours, boat two operated 84.9 hours, boat three operated five hours, and boat four operated 8.6 hours.
Unlike Community Patrol personnel, Marine Patrol employees are employed by the Canyon Lake POA. Its primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting.
