The California Highway Patrol (CHP) made 1,281 DUI arrests during its Thanksgiving Holiday Enforcement, which ran from 6:01 p.m. on November 26 to 11:59 p.m. on November 30. The enforcement effort aimed at protecting motorists during one of the busiest travel weekends of the year.
In addition to DUI arrests, officers issued 21,280 speeding citations—718 of which were for speeds over 100 mph. Statewide, officers completed 52,290 enforcement actions, resulting in 38,301 citations.
