Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department announced the appointment of Robert Fish as the new fire chief for Riverside County, effective December 9.
Chief Fish assumes the role following a structured transition under outgoing Fire Chief Bill Weiser, who will officially retire on December 31 after after a 44-year career.
The Riverside County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously in support of the appointment of Chief Fish, who was sworn in on Tuesday.
Chief Fish began his career as a volunteer firefighter for Moreno Valley in 1992. Most recently, he served as deputy chief of Eastern Operations. Known for his collaborative leadership and operational depth, he brings more than three decades of experience in emergency services, interagency coordination, and firefighter development.
