Robert “Bob” Magee and Timothy J. Sheridan have been appointed to lead the Lake Elsinore City Council in 2026 as mayor and mayor pro tem. The appointment of mayor and mayor pro tem occurs annually in December and is determined by a vote of the city council.

This marks Magee’s eighth term as mayor. Magee, who represents District 5—which includes the Summerly community and the Downtown area—was first elected to the council in 2003.

Over his more than two decades of service, Magee has served seven previous terms as mayor and has championed initiatives focused on public safety, transportation, lake and watershed issues, and the development of parks and recreation facilities. His regional experience includes past leadership roles with the Riverside County Transportation Commission.

“I look forward to a great year ahead,” Magee said. “We’ve had many successful years behind us, and I look forward to continuing to work with the city council to serve our community.”

Sheridan, representing District 3, which encompasses the Tuscany Hills and Canyon Hills areas, has served on the council since 2018. Sheridan also serves as a member of the Riverside Transit Agency Board (RTA).
