At its December 11 meeting, the Elsinore Valley Municipal Water District Board of Directors appointed its officers for the 2026 term. Andy Morris will serve as the board president, and Darcy Burke will serve as vice president.
Morris, who represents District 5, was elected to the board in 2010. This marks his fifth term serving as president. He has served as treasurer in 2012 and 2015, vice president in 2013 and 2022, and president in 2014, 2019, 2020, and 2023.
“It’s a privilege to lead this board during such a transformative time,” Morris said. “As our region continues to grow rapidly, we must ensure our water infrastructure, policies and services meet future needs while protecting affordability for our ratepayers. I look forward to working with our talented board and staff to accomplish just that.”
Burke, who represents District 1, was first elected to the board in 2018. This marks her second term as vice president. During her tenure, Burke served as treasurer in 2019 and 2020, vice president in 2021, and president in 2022.
“Public health and safety is our number one priority,” Burke said. “My leadership style is to lead with transparency and engage the community. Serving alongside President Morris and continuing our regional work is an honor.”
In addition to the appointments of Morris and Burke, Harvey Ryan was appointed treasurer.
“Each brings years of experience and a strong commitment to public service,” EVMWD said. “Under their leadership, EVMWD will continue to focus on reliable service, sustainable water planning, and the infrastructure needed to support our growing region.”
The EVMWD Board meets on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month at 4 p.m. Meetings are open to the public in person and online.
