Canyon Lake teen Cameron Johnson is halfway to reaching his $4000 fundraising goal for an upcoming mission trip to Kenya with his school, scheduled for spring 2026.
Students participating in the mission trip are encouraged to raise funds to cover their expenses. To help reach his goal, Johnson has found a festive way to give back while working toward his goal. To help raise money, he is offering Elf Grams to Canyon Lake residents this holiday.
An Elf Gram is anonymous holiday goody bag delivered right to the recipient’s doorstep. Elf Grams can be purchased for a friend, neighbor, or any Canyon Lake resident you’d like to surprise with a holiday treat. Johnson personally delivers each Elf Gram to the recipient’s front porch.
Each Elf Gram costs $8 and can be purchased via Zelle and Venmo. Elf Grams are peanut-free and include seven items: a candy cane, Hershey’s Kisses, a holiday Rice Krispy Treat, a snowflake light up glow balloon, bubbles, slime, and a keepsake baby Elf.
Johnson’s school, Crossroads, emphasizes serving others. Every year, the high school students choose where they feel led to serve. This year, Johnson has chosen to spread the message of hope to orphans in Kenya.
The Kenya team will journey to Nairobi to partner with Missions of Hope International to minister to children in the Mathare slums through engaging Vacation Bible School lessons, enthusiastic games, meaningful crafts, evangelism, and house visits. At the end of the week, the team will take a short flight from Nairobi to the Masai Mara, where they will host Vacation Bible School for children in a rural community.
