Riders at the Canyon Lake Equestrian Center can look forward to smoother strides ahead as new footing improvements are set to begin next week. The enhancement project will refresh all riding surfaces across the facility, improving ride quality, safety, and overall usability for both horses and riders.
On January 6, the POA Board of Directors approved $200,130 for the arena footing and $20,000 for a utility vehicle and a groomer.
The project includes updating the footing in all three arenas — the dressage arena, jumping arena, and turnout arena — as well as the round pen.
Work is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, February 5, starting with the dressage arena and the turnout arena. During this initial phase, the dressage arena will be closed for approximately two weeks, while the turnout arena will be unavailable for about a week and a half.
The final phase of the project will focus on the jumping arena and the round pen, which is expected to take approximately one week to complete. In total, the project is anticipated to span about three weeks from start to finish.
Riders are encouraged to plan accordingly during the temporary closures as the upgrades are completed.
