In honor of 250 years of American law enforcement service, Hemet Police Chief Michael Arellano has authorized department members to voluntarily wear commemorative semiquincentennial police badges from now through December 31, 2026, recognizing this historic milestone.
These commemorative badges symbolize a legacy built on duty, sacrifice, and service—reflecting generations of officers who have stood watch over their communities with honor and integrity. The badges serve as a visible reminder of the profession’s longstanding commitment to public safety and the rule of law.
The badges were purchased individually by officers and staff and were not funded by taxpayer dollars.
“Since 1910, the Hemet Police Department has proudly served the Hemet community, and we remain dedicated to upholding that tradition of service for generations to come,” the department said.
