On February 27, the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association presented its Marine Patrol report for incidents that occurred from January 25 through February 22. The report highlighted 58 calls for service.
Staff performed 14 boat safety inspections, 15 quagga inspections, eight boat tows, one battery assist, and eight debris/other retrieval and disposal.
In addition to one written and 16 verbal warnings, staff issued 228 citations. The citations include 174 for expired/no registration (state), 46 for expired/no registration at a dock or lift, two for excessive wake in a no wake zone, two for failure to present a California Boater Card, and four for other violations.
Patrol boats operated 140 hours on the main lake, 103.2 hours on the East Bay, and 1.1 hours on the north ski area.
Boat one operated 127.2 hours, boat two operated 116 hours, boat three operated 1.1 hours, and boat four did not operate.
Unlike Community Patrol personnel, Marine Patrol staff are employees of the Canyon Lake Property Owners Association. Marine Patrol’s primary functions are compliance with rules and regulations, quagga and boat safety inspections, and incident observation and reporting.
