Two Hemet residents have been arrested for carjacking and possession of stolen property.
On Sunday, March 15, at 5:50 p.m., deputies responded to a carjacking in the 42000 block of Stetson Avenue in the City of Hemet, where the victim was assaulted and his vehicle taken.
During the course of the investigation, the suspects were identified as Jazline Camacho, a 27-year-old resident of Hemet, and Julio Rodriguez-Mendez, a 37-year-old resident of Hemet.
On March 16, Camacho and Rodriguez-Mendez were located in Hemet and taken into custody without incident.
Deputies located evidence of the carjacking; however, the victim’s vehicle has not been recovered. Camacho and Rodriguez-Mendez were booked into the Smith Correctional Facility on suspicion of carjacking and possession of stolen property.
