The Canyon Lake Property Owners Association has selected Monica Lyons as its Member of the Month, recognizing her dedication and service to the community.
A Canyon Lake resident since 2019, Lyons quickly immersed herself in the community, forming connections with neighbors and actively participating in local initiatives—a commitment she continues to embrace today.
Since settling in Canyon Lake, Lyons and her husband, Troy, have launched several successful businesses, including Yard Fresh Pet Waste Management, Lyons Den Spa, Lyons Building Company, and Lyons Rod and Restoration. Beyond serving clients, these businesses have become powerful platforms for supporting local and regional nonprofits and individuals in need.
For the past four years, Lyons has spearheaded an annual blanket drive benefiting Animal Friends of the Valley, collecting more than 100 bags of blankets each year for shelter animals. In addition, Yard Fresh and Lyons Building Company have provided ongoing yard maintenance and handyman services for families battling cancer through Michelle’s Place Cancer Resource Center, supporting them through their treatment.
Regionally, Yard Fresh and its employees removed trash from local creeks and trails during the Temecula Sustained event. Yard Fresh has also participated in beautification projects in the City of Hemet.
Supporting veterans, Yard Fresh has employed four military veterans.
This week, Lyons Den Spa will celebrate its first anniversary with a special community-focused event. During the celebration, attendees bringing clothing for women and children in need will receive discounts on services, reflecting Lyon’s commitment to giving back through her businesses.
Lyons’s efforts have made her a cornerstone of compassion and service in Canyon Lake. From organizing record-breaking community drives to leveraging her businesses for charitable impact, she has created a legacy of kindness that positively touches hundreds of lives. Her dedication has been formally recognized by the community: in January 2025, the Canyon Lake City Council named her Citizen of the Month, and she has recently been nominated for the WRCOG 2026 Community Service Award.
Through her volunteer leadership, business initiatives, and advocacy, Lyons exemplifies the spirit of giving that strengthens the Canyon Lake community.
